Our exclusive strategic cooperation agreement with the world's top organoid institute (HUB) drives our leading position in providing a cutting-edge tumour organoid platform for drug testing.JOB OVERVIEWWe are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Scientific Operations Director/Associate Director to oversee our scientific operations in Singapore. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in pharmacology, biology, or a related discipline, with extensive experience in both in vitro assays and in vivo animal work processes. This role requires a proven track record in leadership and experience in the CRO/Pharma R&D sector.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESLeadership & Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and train team members, setting individual performance goals and fostering the development of the entire team.
  • Provide effective leadership by recognizing and rewarding employee contributions, and facilitating team activities to maintain high engagement and collaboration.
  • Directly supervise scientists, guiding them in the execution of internal and external projects, and offering support in troubleshooting and client communication.Operational Oversight:
    • Manage scientific operations across multiple departments in our Singapore facility, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory standards.
    • Oversee day-to-day operations, optimizing resource allocation, productivity, and quality control.
    • Drive team efficiency and productivity through strategic management, ensuring high levels of output and performance.Project & Financial Management:
      • Manage a variety of scientific projects, ensuring timely delivery of quality results.
      • Handle the department's budgeting and financial performance to achieve business revenue targets, focusing on both top-line revenue and bottom-line profit.Research & Development:
        • Utilize extensive experience in preclinical drug development to lead the identification of technological advancements and expand the scientific portfolio.
        • Actively participate in the company's research programs, contributing to scientific writing, including the preparation of abstracts, posters, presentations, and manuscripts.
        • Oversee in vitro and in vivo studies, ensuring rigorous scientific standards and compliance with relevant regulations, particularly in relation to animal testing.Collaboration & Client Interaction:
          • Collaborate closely with other scientific departments and commercial teams, including sales and marketing, to support overall company objectives.
          • Engage in direct client interactions, including teleconferences and presentations, to maintain strong relationships and ensure client satisfaction.
          • Spearhead external and internal research collaborations to advance key capabilities and develop new technology platforms.Quality & Compliance:
            • Ensure the quality of scientific outputs and reporting, maintaining high standards of productivity.
            • Contribute to compliance management, particularly in areas related to animal health and regulatory aspects of scientific operations.Change Management:
              • Implement and manage change initiatives to improve operational efficiency, foster innovation, and ensure the team adapts to evolving industry trends and challenges.
              • Develop and empower operations leaders to embrace change, ignite performance, and lead their teams effectively.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
                • Ph. D degree in cancer biology and immunology, pharmacology, medicine or related discipline.
                • 8+ years of research experience in cancer biology, with extensive in vitro assays and in vivo animal work experience. Broad knowledge in molecular biology, cell biology and pre-clinical drug discovery.
                • Essential experience in a CRO or pharmaceutical R&D setting.
                • Proven leadership in managing scientific teams, driving operational success, and promoting a culture of collaboration.
                • Preferred experience with rodent models.
                • Strong background in implementing and leading change initiatives within scientific or operational environments.
                • Proven track record of scientific contributions, with publications and presentations in peer-reviewed journals or at relevant scientific conferences.
                • With Laboratory rodent work permit is preferred.SKILL REQUIREMENTS
                  • Deep understanding of small animal models, specializing in cancer research and immuno-oncology pharmacology.
                  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex problems with innovative solutions.
                  • Ability to make data-driven decisions and solve complex problems with a strategic mindset.
                  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with a strong emphasis on teamwork.
                  • Customer-focused with a strong commitment to service excellence.
                  • Good Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across the organization and promote alignment with corporate objectives.
                  • Fluency in English with outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
