lending industry.Position SummaryWork with the team to provide
courteous, accurate, and quick responses to our customers in the
field and throughout other departments of the company. Closely
follow and communicate compliance and regulatory developments that
affect mortgage lending compliance. Conduct research on federal,
state, agency, and investor regulations and guidelines.Essential
Functions
- Conduct research on federal, state, agency, and investor
regulations and guidelines using proprietary systems, subscriber
databases, and internet resources to verify compliance with
regulations.
- Identify and stay current on changes in industry regulations
that impact work product. Ensure internal systems are updated as
regulations change.
- Follow Document Compliance procedures to verify compliance with
regulatory and internal requirements.
- Provide responsive, knowledgeable, accurate, and courteous
compliance support to branches and internal departments in
accordance with department defined SLAs.
- Research and resolve compliance-related issues and questions
and provide compliant solutions and coaching to the field using
good judgement and collaboration with the team and other
departments.
- Evaluate, recreate, and escalate reported production issues to
the IT product team.
- Escalate matters that fall outside the scope of job duties to
senior analysts or department management.
- Perform paper fulfillment of application disclosures when Truth
in Lending Act (TILA) or Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA)
deadlines are approaching.
- Perform post-close compliance monitoring audits using vendor
software. Review any non-passing results and escalate issues, as
needed.
- Perform project work including internal system updates,
testing, and validation across departments.
- Research, analyze, gather documents, and provide responses for
investor suspense's and investor, state, or federal exams.
- Provide administrative support, as needed.
- Use external and internal vendor databases to gather required
documents.
- Communicate and submit change management tickets to external
vendors.
- Perform other duties as needed.Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; applicable college
courses/technical training related to Business, Finance, Legal,
etc. is preferred along with one to two years total work experience
in an office environment in similar/related positions and
duties.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong detail orientation, critical thinking skills, and highly
organized.
- Exercise sound judgment, work independently in a fast-paced
environment to complete work and assigned projects in a timely
manner.
- Strong sense of urgency and responsiveness.
- Ability to work in a paperless environment.
- Knowledge of the overall consumer mortgage lending process
(loan inception through closing), various types of mortgage
products, and regulations that affect consumer mortgage lending
highly preferred.Supervision
- Depending on experience, intermittent to moderate supervision
of work.
- Depending on experience, moderate level of independent judgment
and discretion used in decision-making.
- Use sound judgment in executing core job responsibilities;
escalate issues that represent higher risk or that fall outside
scope of responsibility/knowledge.
- Works with some external vendors.
- Travel: 0% - 10%.Requirements
- Physical: Work is primarily sedentary; mobility in an office
setting.
- Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of computer keyboard and
mouse.
- Audio/Visual: Ability to accurately interpret sounds and
associated meanings at a volume consistent with interpersonal
conversation. Regularly required to accurately perceive,
distinguish, and interpret information received visually and
through audio, e.g., words, numbers and other data broadcasted
aloud/viewed on a screen, as well as print and other media.Guild
